Introduction

May was a whirlwind of activity at Alphaus Cloud—packed with milestones from latest updates to our core solutions to expanding our footprint across Southeast Asia. Throughout the month, we worked tirelessly to deliver seamless, secure, and scalable cloud experiences that adapt to your evolving needs. We also accelerated integrations, bolstered security across the platform, and forged strategic partnerships in Singapore and Malaysia to strengthen our regional network and drive customer success.

As we look ahead, we’re eager to build on this momentum with new feature launches and events designed to empower your business every step of the way. But first, let’s dive into May’s standout enhancements—from advanced AI cost tracking and comprehensive container workload management to a smooth Google Sheets integration for real-time unit metrics—each crafted to give you unmatched clarity, flexibility, and control over your cloud spending. Here’s what’s new.

Check Out Octo’s May Highlights

These May updates show our commitment to giving you the features you need to make smart decisions that deliver real business value.

AI Cost

Check Octo and try AI Cost!

First, we’re excited to introduce Octo’s new AI Cost feature—designed to give you complete visibility into the costs and usage of your AI workloads across all products and services. This initial release supports AWS, with Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure coming in future updates.

Here are the highlights of this feature:

  • Detailed Cost Attributions: Gain insights into expenses specifically tied to AI usage, with breakdowns by product feature or custom-defined group.
  • Flexible Metric View: Choose from metrics like total cost, usage, unit economics, and trends over time.
  • Custom Grouping: Use the “Group by” field to organize data by account, region, Resource ID, or other fields that fit your workflow.

This new AI Cost feature delivers clear, actionable insights that let teams pinpoint and control their AI spending, quickly identifying inefficiencies and reallocating budgets where they matter most. Because it starts on AWS—with Google Cloud and Azure coming soon—you gain consistent, scalable cost visibility across whichever cloud platforms your business grows into. Container Cost

(Granular cost tracking for AWS ECS and EKS)

Gain clear visibility with our new Container Cost feature!

Next on our list of updates is a feature that provides clear visibility into container costs. We’re excited to introduce Container Cost, a new feature that brings deep insight into your containerized workload spending on AWS. It helps you accurately track, analyze, and optimize container resource costs and usage that are often hidden within broader infrastructure charges.

Built for teams running workloads on Amazon ECS and EKS, Container Cost uses AWS’s Split Cost Allocation Data (SCAD) to attribute infrastructure costs directly to containers—giving you granular insights into what’s driving your spend.

However, keep in mind that AWS SCAD must be enabled in your billing settings. For more information about SCAD, see the AWS Blog post “Enabling Split Cost Allocation Data — AWS Data Exports.”

Unit Cost (Unit Metrics using Google Sheet)

(Google Sheets Integration for Easier Metric Imports)

Try the flexibility of Unit Metrics with Google Sheets!

Great news! We’ve expanded the flexibility of Unit Metrics by introducing Google Sheets as a supported data source. Users can now connect a Google Sheet directly when creating unit metrics, making it easier to bring in business-relevant telemetry such as API calls, active users, transaction counts, and more—without the need for CSV uploads.

This enhancement is for teams already using Google Sheets to track operational or business KPIs. It streamlines the workflow and reduces manual effort—allowing users to link a sheet, select a specific tab and range, and map columns for data and unit value in just a few steps.

Let’s take a look at its key benefits:

  • Faster Setup: Eliminates the need to convert spreadsheets to CSV before importing.
  • Dynamic Updates: Changes in your Google Sheet are reflected automatically, without re-uploading.
  • Improved Usability: A redesigned, step-by-step interface ensures intuitive mapping of sheet data.

This update supports our ongoing goal of making Unit Metrics easier to adopt across varied data sources, empowering users to gain deeper insights into their unit costs with minimal friction.
